1. Not Removing Your Makeup
Do you sometimes go to bed and forgot to remove your makeup? Then its no wonder what you see in the mirror next morning disappoints you. Let your skin breathe at night and void clogged pores. No matter how tired you are you can always spend at least a minute or two to remove your makeup.
2. Using Dirty Makeup Applicators
Your makeup accessories such as applicators, brushes and sponges should always be clean as these accumulate dust, makeup products, dead skin cells and need to be regularly washed. If not cleaned properly this become the reason why you have allergies, rash or infected skin. To prevent bacteria from spreading you should always replace old applicators with new ones.
3. Biting Your Nails
Do you have this habit of biting your nails? This is one of the most nasty habits ever! Nail biting not only affect your looks, it is also very unhealthy. When you touch a number of various things throughout the day and bacteria that stays on your hands and under your nails later on gets into your mouth. As for its effects on your looks – well, who wants their nails chewed and ragged? Try chewing gum instead. Ask for professional help, do some yoga or coat your nails with a nasty-tasting polish to discourage your nail biting habit.
4. Licking Your Lips
Your lips can be more drier and chapped as you licked or chew it on. This, in turn, makes you lick and chew them over and over again. That’s a nasty cycle that you should break. This problem is easily solved by purchasing a lip balm and regularly applying it on your lips. Balm will nourish, moisturize and protect your lips.
5. Not Using Sunscreen
Dry skin is prone to wrinkles. You don’t to look older than you really are right? It does not matter what ethnic group you belong to, it is highly recommended that people of any skin type and color to use sunscreen and never go outside without sunscreen on. We all know you love summer and that a tan skin looks more attractive, but do not forget that the sun is too aggressive and its rays can negatively influence your looks. Using sunscreen should be part of your daily routine.
6. Squeezing Pimples
There is not doubt that you all tried tried to do this at least once in your lifetime. Picking at pimples is another bad habit you should get rid of if you want to improve your appearance. Squeezing pimples is the worst thing you can do to your skin. Squeezing and popping them results in scars and infection. The most important way to stop bacteria from spreading is to wash your face properly on a daily basis. Use a special soap, antibacterial lotion and cream. Avoid wearing makeup for some time and let your skin heal first.
7. Combing Wet Hair
You should not combed or brushed your wet hair right after shower. You should let them dry first. If you are in a hurry, you should use a dryer instead. Set it to a temperature that is not too high. Warm or cold air is preferred. Attach a special brush to the dryer and gently brush your hair when it is damp.
8. Tight Braids and Ponytails
Remember and learn this new term – traction alopecia. This condition is described as hair loss due to hair being intentionally and regularly pulled out of your scalp. During the years the roots and follicles of your hair become weak and you notice that you hair is no longer as thick as it used to be. This problem occurs to women who are fond of wearing braids and tight ponytails. In some cases, hair loss is permanent. To prevent possible problems, give your hair a rest.
9. Tweezing Ingrown Hairs
Do you have ingrown hair? Then you are all too familiar with the problems it may cause. It is itchy, looks unattractive and very uncomfortable. But did you know that picking the ingrown hair with a needle or tweezers while trying to remove it from under your skin will cause even more severe problems in the future? These are infection, bruises, and scars. The best thing to do is to exfoliate the skin to remove the dead skin cells. Once the ingrown hair appears pluck it.
10. Crash Dieting
There are negative effects of crash dieting. Fat is not the only thing you lose, you also lose muscles. Your metabolism slows down, your body lacks minerals and vitamins, your skin, nails, and hair suffer. So don’t starve yourself. Include fruits and vegetables, lean protein and exclude junk food and sugary drinks to make your menu healthy,. Also do sports – alternate cardio with weight training. Cardio will burn fat while weight training will build built muscle. The result is a more healthy and toned up body.
